If your child or student is bright, but has trouble learning to read and write, he or she may have dyslexia. Dyslexia is the most common learning disorder, affecting as many as 10% of our population. Despite the fact that studies have notbeen able determine the underlying cause, there is plenty of evidence that the condition can be treated with a different approach. As discovered by Samuel Orton, in the early 1900's, children who have dyslexia must be taught to read with a multi-sensory, intensive phonics based program. Once treated with such a program, these children can read just as well (or better) than their peers. This is what this book does.

This reading program contains 55 completelessons that will gradually teach your child or student to decode and spell words using phonics, rules and memory cues. These easy to follow, scripted lessons gradually build up to the next topic, offering repetition for reinforcement. Being based on the well-known Orton-Gillingham method for overcoming dyslexia, this program is effective; your child or student will be well on their way to reading and writing within a short time.

Many lessons in this reading program have spelling and sentence dictations. Audio for these exercises are available for free at the author's website, which is listed inside the book (or at the author's bio page).
