The philosophy behind BJU Press's VOCABULARY series is a reflection of the BJU Press philosophy as a whole: Student comprehension is the goal, and that goal is reached by giving teachers scripturally sound educational principles. Thus, unlike many other vocabulary texts, you will not find here long lists of words for students to memorize. Rather, the emphasis of the series is on vocabulary principles: * Where did English come from? * What do common prefixes, roots, and suffixes mean? * How can we discern the meaning of a new word based on already understood concepts? VOCABULARY may also double as a spelling text.
