This handbook, specifically designed as a reference for the general reader, is illustrated with 952 photographs and 114 drawings and maps arranged for easy, on-the-spot identification. The photographs, remarkable for their quality and detail, were taken by the author from living materials. They illustrate leaves, flowers, fruits, seeds, bark and winter buds so that the plants may be identified easily at any time of year.
