It also provides an introduction to ecosystems and the study of ecology and shows why it is important to evaluate environmental policy from a multidisciplinary perspective. The history of the environmental movement and change in public opinion are charted; the regulatory framework is evaluated; the institutional setting of the policy-making process is analyzed; and the formal means of environmental control are described.
