Hephzibah V. Strmic-Pawlholds a Ph.D. in sociology from the University of Virginia. An assistant professor of sociology at Manhattanville College in New York, she is the author ofMultiracialism and Its Discontents: A Comparative Analysis of Asian-White and Black-White Multiracials.She is also the pedagogy editor for the journalSociology of Race and Ethnicityand the racial and ethnic relations editor for TRAILS, the American Sociological Association online peer reviewed library of teaching resources. Milton Vickermanearned his Ph.D. at New York University and is now an associate professor of sociology at the University of Virginia. His main areas of research are race, immigration, and the processes of minority adaptation to American society. He is the author ofThe Problem of Post-RacialismandCrosscurrents: West Indian Immigrants and Race.
