This fifth edition represents a complete rewriting of the text and a revision of all of the manual and pedal exercises. New compositions for manuals and pedal have been added and some of the works in the earlier editions have been omitted. The sections on the organ and registration have been considerably expanded and a section on style and interpretation has been added. The material in the Appendices has been complete revised, and the Bibliographies have been brought up to date. Many reproductions of original editions and manuscripts have been included for the first time.
