An easy to understand music theory section is included especially for the beginning student, which sets forth the basics of music theory, thus laying the foundations for the exercises. From the most simple construction of basic intervals to the most advanced chord structure, all information is consistently applied to the guitar fretboard. The exercises prompt the student to write out an example using staff notation, and then to find those notes on a guitar fretboard diagram. All answers are included in the book, enabling the student to check his or her own work.
