The Structured Sensory Interventions for Traumatized Children, Adolescents and Parents (SITCAP) model is a treatment approach designed to diminish the terror that trauma-exposed individuals experience and facilitate feelings of safety. This book details the model and its theoretical foundations, strategies, field testing, and research. Case examples and descriptions of session activities address the parameters of intervention in school environments as well as more clinically focused interventions in agency settings. Steele is founder and director of the National Institute for Trauma and Loss in Children.
